Composition

active ingredient: bismuth tribromophenate;

Pharmacological properties

Bismuth tribromophenolate (xeroform) has antiseptic, astringent and drying properties. The action of the drug is to interact with tissue proteins to form albuminates, which, like a protective film, protect sensitive nerve endings from irritation, as well as to constrict blood vessels, reduce their permeability (exudation decreases) and inhibit enzymes; interaction with proteins of microorganisms suppresses their vital activity.

Indication

As an astringent, drying and antiseptic agent for inflammatory skin diseases.

Contraindication

Increased individual sensitivity.
